Bringing Nature's Wisdom into Our Daily Lives

A Self-Survey:
Are You Living in Balance with Nature?

Our relationship with Nature affects all aspects of our lives. The following 14 questions are helpful in discovering ways you are connected or disconnected from Nature's balancing influence in your life. Before starting go to www.JustAskaTree.com and that HE Color Test. Then click on What Does This Mean?

1.  Are you aware of your connection to the web of life? Can you sense it? Have you been taught that this awareness is flakey, weird, irrational or unscientific?

2.  Are you aware of societal attitudes that separate you from Nature and cut you off from fully appreciating the person you would naturally be?

3.  Do you feel supported by the relationships and circumstances of your life? Or do you feel at loose ends in life? Does your life seem to flow naturally? Or does it feel more like a struggle?

4.  Have the energetic strands that would connect you to Nature been cut or injured in your interactions with life? Have you knowingly cut or injured these stands?

5.  Can you think of ways you’ve been prejudiced against Nature or your own Nature?

6.  Does your life fall short of its potential because of problems that prevent you from following what your own intuitive inner wisdom would attract you to?

7.  Do you spend over 90% of your time each day indoors? Would you like to spend more time out of doors?

8.  Do you have any symptoms of disconnection from Nature such as undue loneliness, sadness, stress, excessive wants, depression, addictions, lack of attention, underlying anger?

9.  Has much of the hurt you’ve experienced in your life been come from not having  a personal, work or natural environment that has been nurturing and supportive of you and your hopes and dreams?

10. Does it make sense for you to want to learn through contact with Nature? Have you learned that doing “stuff like this” is flaky or fuzzy thinking and may make you look foolish, irrational, unprofessional or immature?

11. Are you missing out on making contributions that your natural self could make to your life and to the world? Have you been trained to deny or repress your natural self?

12. Do you sometimes negate or demean the contributions that connections to people, animals, or other aspects of Nature might bring to your life because they interfere with your immediate plans, wishes or enjoyment? Have you been taught to see taking time for such things as negative or unimportant unless they are instrumental to your goals?

13.  Do you ever feel a separation between the desires of your heart and the “should’s” in your head?

14.  Are you confused or conflicted about what your need to do in life or wonder why you do things even though you don’t enjoy them or even know they’re not good for you?

Results: If you answered "yes" to these questions, doing nature activities and spending time in nature can help you enjoy a healthier, more fulfilling and balanced life, no matter where you live.
